Item and Weapon Descriptions. FPS, RPG, Third-Person Action, Racing. Existing IP

Again, this showcases my ability to adapt to established IP as well as some original ideas.

I took titles that I have experience with, like Bioshock, Halo, The Last of Us, or The Elder Scrolls, and games that I have briefly played, such as Apex Legends or a hypothetical game, and considered how flavor text is included. How short weapon descriptions are & their purpose? A maximum wordcount with goofy items? Or what a player reads in marketplace before taking on a quest? These can serve three purposes: informing the player of a item’s mechanic, displaying its stats, or connecting to wider lore.

My process was recalling from memory the writing style, story telling style, of various things a player picks up. I trimmed out ones that I thought were poor quality (example below). Additionally, my formatting was confusing (same example below) Or, lines an NPC seller tells the player. Think being the player-character in The Elder Scrolls. You need a cloak for stealth. Oh, look at this Black Cotton Cloak. Dragur will be completely unaware to you until you fire arrows into their knees.

So, this iteration shows how I learn from experience. I clean up formatting and trim down wordcount, and ensure that each line informs the player in a short space of UI. You’re welcome, designers!
