Something New in which to share Progress…

To hook up metaphorical jumper cables and utilize this blog a bit better (and get my money’s worth, cuz its not that cheap!), I will share my progress for each chapter remaining to revise in Project Ellexis. Which, using the chapter count from the first full draft, is six.

Below will be the set up.

Each of these posts will a header image color, which carries a meaning:

A) Green for Completed

B) Orange for Revising

Each has itty bitty stats:

Pages Written for this Week: four-and -a-half (which, in fact, how much I did type up lately).

Which Chapter? 8

Some Percentage number or visual: 63.14

Starting probably next week… yeah. Sounds reasonable. Now, even if I don’t write the same amount each week. Even if it is ZERO.

I figure that because I aim to get this done soon-ish - as in 2026 soon -, I can bring you more consistently into the mix of this whole thing - to crossing the checkered flaaaaag! BOOYAH!

What about those 3-5 minute long YouTube Writing Updates? Those every-few-months ones where I make an attempt to be informative and also be unintentionally awkward (which that latter is natural for me anyhow)? I mean, as much as I enjoy filming them, spending two hours editing them into something watchable, I want to do that less often. I need to use my website just a liiiitle more. By using this format, it is the least amount of work of providing updates until this is finished. Additionally, I plan to share these to my new Instagram page (@matthewbirdzell) and the various Discord servers I am in (A Fine Addition, JumperScape, LoveThyNerd, Imaldris, IGDA SIG Game Writers Association, and LegendFire Critique Community).

My one concern his how same-y this will become. I mean, other writers who have actual success already do something this. So I guess we will find out?

Suggestions to make it less repetitive?
