Where are my posts??
For those of you possibly wondering, “Where are Matthew’s writing update posts? Those one-off ones?”, just read here. I’ve got you covered. Or maybe you’re not wondering because I am still lurking in the shadows of being an unknown artist.
How can you NOT know about me??
Lul. I kid.
No, I didn’t let my website just disappear into the ether. No, its not really dormant, although I do rather suck at posting consistently.
Whatever consistency means…
Its different for every writer, duh!
Essentially, I am spending the writing time doing ACTUAL writing. Finding nuggets or gaps of time in my week to push forward to completing epic and fantastic projects. I find it more worth the time to get Project Ellexis’s revision all nicely done and continue to study game writing than post into the slush pile of social media posts, website content, AuthorTube, yada yada. Or else you don’t get much writing done!
SO:
If you haven’t already found out, I stopped living under a rock and created an Instagram account last year. You’ll find it linked at the bottom of my site (@matthewbirdzell). On it, I post little updates once or twice every couple of weeks (also possibly not enough). Or, I share those and those once in a while, three to four minute-long Writing Update videos to my Facebook and HasToManyDamnAdsYouTube. Sure, it is irritating to tap “Skip” on your phone five seconds into every video. Hopefully mine aren’t plagued as others are. And, I love reposting memes. Oh, all sorts of them - gross, corny, hilarious. Even some with bad words, because they crack me up. Sorry in advance if they’re too offensive.
Okay, lets see. Instagram… Facebook…. YouTube… oh, yeah. Discord. I am on it near daily. Have been for the past - and you probably won’t believe me - near ten years. Ten years! Thats a long chunk of change. I simply haven’t shared my recent content much there. But I am still there with various communities - gaming, writing, networking, the likes.
Aaannd, yeah, that about sums this up. I do have ideas on blog posts, mind you. Its about deciding what’s important, valuable, and most obvious… funny. Because having a sense of humor in them is definitely the highest priority thing to do.
